ESS is your employee self-service portal provided as part of your employer's SmoothPay payroll service.

It provides:
  • pay summaries
  • leave balances and requests
  • attendance

How does it work?
  • Your employer publishes their payroll data to the ESS system (after that it should update automatically each time a pay is processed)
  • Your ESS username will be printed on your payslip (or you can ask your employer)
  • If your employer currently emails you your payslip, then that should still happen as well
  • Your employer must have your email address and optionally your cellphone number on your employee record for ESS authentication to work (if you have neither then ESS is not for you)
  • You need to authenticate your account the first time you use it so that a password can be allocated to you (instantly via SMS or using a link in the activation email)
  • You can deactivate and reactivate your account any time (as long as you keep the email containing those links)
  • Login using the ESS Login button above
  • Create a shortcut on your mobile Home screen to the login page and/or your attendance page
